And a massive day of Banger Racing! Celebrating 384 John Golden’s 40 year Banger racing career!
Racing are National Unlimited Bangers and Junior Bangers.
Hello and welcome to Skegness Raceway for the biggest Unlimited National Banger event in the history of this venue. With thanks to John Golden, his dear wife and a long list of other helpers, a huge celebration of John’s 40 years of racing has been assembled today featuring drivers from the past as well as many big names of today. Many impressive cars are set to be raced and many memorable crashes will take place. For Skegness, this truly is the big one.
Everything is coming together nicely for what promises to be a fantastic day and we look forward to seeing everyone there , hopefully with plenty of Hawaiian shirts on show.

John Golden’s choice of Star Car of the meeting will receive £200 and there will be another 10 awards for Special cars that will receive £100 each.
John will also have a special invitation ‘Old Boys ‘ race that will be for the more seasoned campaigners from around 20-25 years ago, those drivers that John raced with from the era of Wimbledon world finals, Arena Firecrackers in their heyday, the Swaffham Icebreakers etc. This race will be Sponsored by DORMER GRAB SERVICES and the Top 3 will receive £250, £100 and £50. The best entertainer in this race will receive £100.
The Heats will pay £50, £30 and £20 and the best Entertainer again will receive £100.
The Consolation races will pay £35, £25 and £15 and the best entertainer again will receive £100.
The Qualifiers only Final( Top Drivers ( amount TBC) from heats/ Consolation races plus all entertainer winners) will be Sponsored by SKEGNESS RACEWAY and will be lined up 3 Abreast , closed grid ( after a random draw ) and will be a Clutch Start. The Leader at the end of Every lap will each time receive £50. The Winner takes all come the Chequered flag will also receive £384. This race will see 3 Entertainment awards nominated and following a Crowd noise vote, the winner will receive £100 and the other 2 nominated entertainers £50 each.
The Allcomers race will pay £75, £50 and £25 to the top three and again the best Entertainer will receive £100.
The DD will see £500 to the winner and that is sponsored by R & J VEHICLES LTD and JOHN GOLDEN. There will be 2 Entertainment awards up for grabs in the DD as well They will be for £100 and £50 respectively but these cannot be won by the DD winner though.
The driver with the biggest wreck of the day will receive a new Safety Harness courtesy
of G&M BANGER BITS.

We are thrilled to be welcomed into the Trip Advisor Hall of Fame with our Certificate of Excellence and we have a 4.7 out of 5 rating on google. You really should be coming along to Skegness Raceway to be part of the excitement & fun that lots of people are talking about and have had a great time over the last few years. We are also members of Visit Britain and Visit England. Skegness Raceway is also home to the famous ‘SKEG VEGAS’ Sign.

Plus we also have a large undercover Grandstand on the back straight, if you prefer to watch from outside, the arena is raised terracing so plenty of unhindered viewing. We also have Bars (including our family Raceview Bar, air con or heated), shops, catering, toilets, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities (located in the disabled toilets).
We have no direct seating (yet), large tyres are banked in on each bend which do create a seating area. You are welcome to bring your own chairs. The seaside end allows a great area for wheelchair viewing.
We have some ongoing improvements at the raceway, Please bear with us as we continue to upgrade the Raceway.
Sorry there isn’t a cash machine at the raceway, you can pay cash or card but be aware we don’t have card machines in the bars and cash payment is quicker in the shops. Due to the Raceway location we struggle for a signal with mobile card machines.
Large free carpark adjacent to the stadium
There is full access to the pits
Disabled parking is situated near the turnstiles (please don’t park in front of the turnstiles), would recommend early arrival to secure a space. Places can’t be saved.
Trackside parking no longer available (hasn’t been since 2017) and there is also no longer a bus service to the Raceway, we do have a free car park.
Note. Large quantities of food and drink are not allowed to be brought in to the Stadium arena. You may enter the Stadium with a small amount of food and non- alcoholic beverage suitable for one person’s consumption ie. Sandwich, packet of crisps and bottle of soft drink.
We will not allow cooler boxes, holdalls, shopping bags, backpacks etc. filled with refreshments. Nor will we allow trays, packs crates etc. of soft drinks.
STRICTLY NO ALCOHOL or GLASS. Alcohol will be confiscated
If you have specific dietary requirements for health reasons, please bring a confirmation letter with you from your GP.
We race in all weather conditions.
Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed to be brought into the venue.
No tents, shelters, gazebos, marquee’s, pop up tents or similar are allowed inside the Stadium Arena.
